Turning Point Rock the Night Gala

When: Monday, October 27, 2014

Where: Crystal Plaza

Turning Point, Inc., will host a “Rock the Night”-themed annual gala at the Crystal Plaza on Monday, October 27th, from 6:30 -11 pm. Vince Neil, lead singer of Motley Crue, whose autobiography Tattoos & Tequila chronicles his lifelong struggle with alcohol and drugs, will attend to sign autographs and take pictures during the VIP session.  Neil will also perform with Livingston’s up and coming band, “Going Dark” and will auction tickets to one of Motley Crue’s final farewell concerts at Madison Square Garden the very next night!

Turning Point will also honor former NBA star of ESPN’s acclaimed film, “Unguarded,” Chris Herren. "I am a believer in the power of treatment and supporting services that provide a lifeline for those who can't afford to get the help they need. It will be an evening that truly will celebrate the power of recovery," stated Herren.
“Both Honorees for Turning Point’s “Rock the Night” Gala have compelling stories. Chris Herren has shared a powerful story about his NBA fame, decline into substance abuse and road to recovery. Vince Neil has also been very open about the role alcohol and drugs played in his life.  Both of these very public stories can be an inspiration to those still struggling or in early recovery. We are honored to have both of these men at the Gala and are grateful for their support of our mission,” said Turning Point CEO, Dr. Manuel Guantez.

“Individuals and families who come to us for help directly benefit from the support we receive from our annual Gala. One VIP Gala Dinner ticket covers the cost of an hour of Family Counseling, a full page ad purchase in our event journal helps support a day in our medically supervised detox unit for 2 clients. There are really numerous ways to impact a life through this event,” said Kitt Greenberg, President of Turning Point’s Board of Trustees.

Turning Point’s annual gala welcomes approximately 300 people every year from across the tri-state region. The fundraiser supports the wide range of services Turning Point provides to men and women struggling with substance use disorder, which includes medically supervised detox, residential and halfway house services, as well as outpatient services in Paramus and Verona.

Each year, Turning Point treats more than 2,700 men and women for their alcohol and drug addiction at its state-of-the-art facility in northeastern New Jersey. The agency offers a full range of services intended to treat addiction with compassion and clinical excellence.

After the movie, starting at 9:30PM, patrons will step out to the Grand Lobby and into an elegantly decadent Masquerade After-Party! It'll have a 1920s theme to celebrate the Loew's 85th Anniversary. And the '20s theme will also make party-goers feel like they're back in one certain scene in "The Shining" -- a little eerie, maybe, but also a lot of fun! There'll be a great mix of music & dancing all night, light refreshments, a cash bar (wine & beer) and a surprise or two. And because a Masquerade has become a new tradition at the Loew's, they'll be a Costume Contest for fun prizes with categories that include "Best Jack", "Best Movie Star" and "Best Over-All". But patrons don't have to wear a mask. more
