8 Must-Have Good Luck Dishes from Cheng Du 23 in Wayne

Greet the Year of the Monkey with these exceptional, authentic dishes to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Kevin Lin, owner of Cheng Du 23, 6 Willowbrook Boulevard, Wayne (BYO) is recommending the following dishes to mark the Year of the Monkey, which begins February 8: steamed juice buns (soup dumplings); deep fried whole sea bass with ground pork and pickled chilies; triple pepper chicken; Szechuan sausage with pearl mushrooms, leeks and green garlic; rice cake with shrimp and egg; spicy cabbage with bok choy and white vegetables; Fuji mountain beef; and to end the meal on a sweet note the hard to find winery-sweet ball soup, which is served hot. ROMANTIC PACKAGE OFFERED AT THE PEACOCK INN, PRINCETON
Through the end of February, (except for February 12, 13, and 14) the Peacock Inn, 20 Bayard Lane, Princeton is offering a luxury romantic package that includes: a preferred luxury guest room; five-course dinner with wine pairing for two; two glasses of Prosecco in room and a Continental breakfast for $550. An upgrade to a deluxe guest room is $50. Their intimate dining room, which was named one of the Top 25 Restaurants in New Jersey by New Jersey Monthly in 2011, 2013 and 2014, offers New American cuisine under the direction of executive chef Jason Ramos.
