Calandra’s and WDHA Radio Team Up

The Cavatelli and Clambake, which benefits The Valerie Fund, will feature games, prizes and appearances by players for the New Jersey Devils.

A bowl of cavatelli and clams and a choice of a glass of Calandra wine or Peroni beer, along with games, prizes, and live radio call-ins will be featured at the Cavatelli and Clambake hosted by Calandra’s Italian Village, 234 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to The Valerie Fund, an organization that provides health care, including medical treatment, counseling and child development activities, for children with cancer and blood disorders. WDHA, “The Rock of New Jersey,” also known as 105.5 on your radio will be in attendance along with special guests from the New Jersey Devils along with photo and autograph opportunities with the Devils’ mascot and New Jersey Devils alumni.

BASTILLE DAY CELEBRATION AT CRYSTAL SPRINGS
Crystal Springs Wine Cellar, 1 Wild Turkey Road, Hamburg, will host a Bastille Day dinner starting with a wine and canapé reception followed by a four-course French wine dinner. Executive chef Anthony Bucco will present the following menu: chilled Langoustine soup with tomato water and summer squash; Colorado lamb with byaldi, a variation on ratatouille; Epoisses cheese accompanied by sour plums and almond sable made with mangalitsa lard; and mille crepes with wine berries served with rosé wine sorbet and rose petals and paired with rosé champagne. 6:30 PM; $129 including wines, tax and gratuity additional. Lucky 7 Tavern, 322 2nd Street, Jersey City (201-418-8585), will host a Rock ‘n Roll BBQ from 1 to 3 PM; free admission; BBQ $8 a plate. Along with featured beers by Brooklyn Brewery, the BBQ feast created by chef Mike Fiorianti will include four whole pigs, ribs, chicken and veggie kebobs. WINE CLASS IN FLEMINGTON
George Staikos, a wine educator, sommelier, and corporate speaker will teach a Great Wines for the Grill class at 55 Main Restaurant, 55 Main Street, Flemington.
