Celebrate Bastille Day at Crystal Springs

Chef Anthony Bucco will present a four-course French wine dinner.

On July 16, Crystal Springs Wine Cellar, 1 Wild Turkey Road, Hamburg, will host a Bastille Day dinner starting with a wine and canapés reception followed by a four-course French wine dinner. Executive chef Anthony Bucco will present the following menu: chilled langoustine soup with tomato water and summer squash; Colorado lamb with byaldi, a variation on ratatouille; Epoisses cheese accompanied by sour plums and almond sable made with mangalitsa lard; and mille crepes with wine berries served with rosé wine sorbet and rose petals paired with rosé champagne. 6:30 PM; $129 including wines, tax and gratuity additional. MICHELE D’AMELIO
Multi-award-winning pizza chef Michele D’Amelio, from Italy, has joined A Mano, 24 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood, as head pizzaiolo. In 2010, he took the second place title in the Regina Margherita Association’s Margherita STG competition in Naples, Italy. In 2013, he traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada with the Caputo/Orlando Foods’ team of master pizzaioli and was crowned first place champion in the Italian Style category at the International Pizza Expo. In 2014, D’Amelio was awarded second place in the Pizza World Championship in Parma, Italy.

D’Amelio has created some specials that will be served on weekends including: Pizza Fiori: imported smoked buffalo mozzarella, zucchini flowers, zucchini, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil; Pizza Pugliese: homemade mozzarella, fava beans, Italian ham, peas, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil; and Pizza Terra Mia (my land) made with cherry tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, basil leaves and extra virgin olive oil with all ingredients imported from the Naples’s area

A Mano is open Monday through Thursday, 11:30 AM to 10 PM, Friday and Saturday 11:30 AM to 11 PM and Sunday 12:30 to 9 PM.

CHEF BRYAN GREGG
Congratulations to chef Bryan Gregg owner of Escape in Montclair (973-744-0712), who has won the 2015 Jersey Seafood Challenge against six other chefs with his Barnegat Light scallops, creamless creamed corn and Jersey chanterelles dish. The winning dish will be on the menu at Escape Montclair until the end of July. Chef Gregg will represent NJ on August 8 in New Orleans at the Great American Seafood Cook-off competition. which will be televised by the Food Network.

NJRHA ANNOUNCES 2015 INDUSTRY AWARD WINNERS
The 2015 New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association (NJRHA) have announced the following award winners:

Restaurateur of the Year: Steve Bidgood, owner of Salt Creek Grille in Rumson & Princeton.

Deborah Roy Dowdell Lifetime Achievement Award: Donald Horn, Mayfair Farms in West Orange.

Gold Plate Awards: Michael Cetrulo, owner of Scalini Fedeli, (Chatham), Il Mondo Vecchio (Madison), Sirena Ristorante (Long Branch) and Joanne Szibdat, General Manager of Mayfair Farms in West Orange.

Hospitality Award: Chef/owner George Krytatas of SweetWater Bar & Grill in Cinnaminson.
