Chef Bryan Gregg Announces Changes at Escape

A refreshed menu and themed specials mark this Montclair restaurant's third anniversary.

To celebrate their third anniversary, chef Bryan Gregg, owner of Escape, 345 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, has announced that structural and cosmetic changes have been made to the restaurant, which will allow for classes, private events and additional guest-chef, wine and beer pairing dinners to benefit cancer research in New Jersey. Chef Gregg also has a refreshed menu that has retain some customer favorites and incorporates a two-course, weekend prix fixe brunch for $19 as well as the following themed days:

Burger Tuesday –Burger with either a soup or a salad and the dessert of the day for $24.

Fried Chicken Wednesday—Fried chicken with either a soup or a salad and the dessert of the day for $24.

Prix-fixe Thursday—three courses from the night’s menu for $35.

Friday Happy Hour—three courses for $35 from the night’s menu for reservations before 6:30 PM.

A special affordable children’s menu for lunch and dinner with healthy options is now available as well as a two-course kids’ brunch menu on weekends for $10. Also, throughout April on weekends, guests will be able to buy treats to take home at a bake sale with proceeds going to Share Our Strength’s Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry.

DIANE PINDER HAS SOLD HER CHOCOLATE COMPANY

After 10 years of running Donna & Company, an artisanal chocolate company, Diane Pinder has sold her business. The new owners (fundamentalchocolate.com and donnatoscana.com) will continue to make her products for existing Donna & Company resellers, including Whole Foods Market. Pinder plans to participate in culinary events in and around New Jersey and make her services available for special occasions as time permits. Her new website can be found here.

CHRISTOPHER JAMES PROMOTED TO BAR DIRECTOR

Master Bartender, Christopher James, formerly head bartender at Jockey Hollow Bar and Kitchen, Vail Mansion, 110 South Street, Morristown (973 -644-3180), has been promoted to Bar Director.

George Georgiades, previously from Varka in Ramsey, has opened EONS Greek Food For Life, a quick healthy Greek Restaurant at 633 Second Avenue, New York City (212-696-1234). The restaurant seats 40 people, and is open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM.
