Fine Wines, Fare and More!

500 wines will be up for sampling at an event this Saturday.

On Saturday, May 16, sample more than 500 fine wines, craft beers, specialty spirits and food at The Buy-Rite Corporation’s “Super Sampling” that will be held at the Doubletree, 700 Hope Road, Eatontown. 7 to 11 PM; $79; $99 at the door. VIP admission at 6 PM is $129 and includes a seated dinner during the pre-event hour and exclusive products for sampling; reservation only. ESCAPE TO GREECE KITCHEN TAKEOVER
Chef Bryan Gregg, owner of Escape, 345 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, has announced that he will turn his kitchen over to Peter Minaki, Greek chef and cookbook author. Minaki will host the following five-course dinner: amuse of Santorini tomato fritters with Feta yogurt sauce; smoked mussels Saganaki; seared Halloumi, grape, orange salad with arugula; bonus course by Escape of sausage of duck, buckwheat blini, cured duck yolk; rack of lamb, Greek chimichurri, boulangère potatoes; and phyllo cigar filled with Bougatsa custard. 6 PM; $68 excluding taxes and gratuities. HAPPY 5th ANNIVERSARY TO THE PEACOCK INN, PRINCETON
There are two ways to celebrate the five year anniversary of The Peacock Inn, 20 Bayard Lane, Princeton: A two-course brunch will be offered from 11 AM to 1 PM for $20.10 (usually $32) and a dinner from 5 to 9 PM with all entrees priced at $20.10. MONDAY, MAY 18
Chef Michael Symon, will be honored at the BBQ & B’Yond tasting event that will be held at the Preakness Hills Country Club, 1050 Ratzer Road, Wayne, to benefit Table to Table, a community-based food rescue program that collects prepared and perishable food—that would otherwise be wasted—and delivers it to organizations serving the hungry in the Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties of New Jersey. 6:30 PM; $195. TUESDAY, MAY 19
MEDITERRANEAN-STYLE FEAST
Chef Peter Minaki will join chef Todd Villani at Terre a Terre, 312 Hackensack Street, Carlstadt, for the following Mediterranean-style feast: An amuse of Yellow Springs Farm Feta cheese in puff pastry (chef Todd); Black Berkshire braised pork “gyro” (chef Peter); Blue Moon Acres Farm arugula fennel and orange salad(chef Todd); charred baby octopus, smoked eggplant in tomato sauce (chef Peter); Elysian Fields Farm rosemary lamb, oregano roasted potato coins, crispy artichokes with mint yogurt (chef Todd); and for dessert a chefs’ collaboration of Mastiha crème brulée. 7:30 PM; $79, plus tax and gratuity.
