Redux Coming to Madison

Chef Robert Ubhaus returns to the Morris County, plus other openings around the state.

Watch for the opening this summer of Redux, 3 Central Avenue, Madison, by chef Robert Ubhaus, previous owner of Resto and Rob’s Bistro in Madison. Redux will feature Modern American small plates and will have two dining options. The main dining room will seat 35, and the chef’s counter will have seating for 14, in the kitchen overlooking chef Rob and his culinary team. Next door to Redux will be The Market at Redux, a specialty and prepared foods retail shop with cheese, charcuterie, house-made soups, prepared foods, a butcher case and much more. The Market will also specialize in off-premise catering.

WATER STAR GRILLE AT THE REEDS IS NOW OPEN

The Water Star Grille at The Reeds at Shelter Haven, 9601 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, is now open. It offers scenic views and waterfront dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Throughout the day, guests can also drink and dine in the comfortable bar and cocktail lounge, and boaters can dock at the restaurant’s private slips. Some items on executive chef Tim Hamill’s new menu are: Asian chicken salad with Thai peanut dressing; tuna tartare nachos; Kobe beef sliders; prosciutto flatbread; and lobster cobb salad. MR C’S IN ALLENHURST

Mr C’s Beach Bistro, Ocean Place at Allen Avenue, Allenhurst (732-531-3665), has reopened. The restaurant had  closed because of damage from Hurricane Sandy.

PEACE PIE

An ice cream sandwich with a layer of pie filling is the signature dish offered at the newly opened Peace Pie, 326 Carpenter Lane, Cape May (609-226-1144).

REEF & BARREL REPLACES EDGAR’S PUB, MANASQUAN

Reef & Barrel, previously known as Edgar’s Pub, has opened at 153 Sea Girt Avenue, Manasquan (732-449-4114).

 

SHORT GRAIN, JERSEY CITY

Short Grain, a casual café has opened at 183 Montgomery Street, Jersey City (201-333-2810). This fast, casual cafe offers specialty coffees, including Vietnamese coffee, as well as fresh juice, pastries, avocado toast, and Vietnamese-style sandwiches and small plates.
