Mar 5: When Paterson native and jazz guitarist/vocalist John Pizzarelli, left, returns home for a show at the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts, he gets the whole family involved. Joining his quartet (which includes younger brother Martin on bass) will be John’s wife, singer and Broadway actress Jessica Molaskey.
Of course, no Pizzarelli family reunion would be complete without the man who taught John everything he knows—his father and jazz-guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli, right. Join Jersey’s First Family of Jazz for an evening of cool standards, signature swing, and maybe even a few embarrassing childhood stories. 8 pm; $47–$77. 100 South St, Morristown (973-539-8008; mayoarts.org).
