Oct 10: Find something ghoulish to wear for the ninth annual Witches Costume Ball at Mill Race Village in downtown Mount Holly. The costume contest is judged on creativity (with more than $1,000 in cash prizes), while the rest of the evening includes tarot card readings, spooky portrait photography, presentations by South Jersey Paranormal Research, performances by Matica Fire Arts, live music from Lumberton’s own Sunday’s Murder, and a “black market” featuring some very unusual arts-and-crafts vendors. 6–11:30 pm; free (costume-contest registration $10).
