Dec. 31: Party like it’s 2009 (one final time!) at the eighteenth annual First Night Morris County, a New Year’s Eve celebration on the Morristown Green. Ring in 2010 with about 10,000 local friends and families, and enjoy nearly 100 music, dance, and comedy performances at downtown venues including the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts. The evening includes two spectacular fireworks displays. Similar First Night celebrations will be taking place in Haddonfield, Manasquan, Maplewood and South Orange, Mount Holly, and Ocean City, among other locations. 7 pm–midnight; $15–$25.
