Nov. 9: Celebrate the hits of J. Billy VerPlanck at the “Through His Life” memorial concert at William Paterson University. The jazz arranger and trombone player from Clifton passed away in June.
“Billy was a brilliant musician,” says his wife, the renowned cabaret singer Marlene VerPlanck. “He worked with all the jazz greats, and his name deserves to live on.”
Marlene and special guests perform her husband’s songs to benefit the J. Billy VerPlanck Jazz Scholarship Fund. 7 pm; $20. 300 Pompton Rd, Wayne (973-720-2371).
