It’s a Fright Fest
Sept 20-Nov 2: After 5:30 pm on weekends, 200 zombies emerge at Six Flags Great Adventure and terrify any who cross their path. Not for children under 12 or anyone who scares easily. Corner of Chaos
Sept 26-Nov 1: Corner-Copia Garden Center becomes Scream Acres in October, featuring a Wicked Wagon Ride through a haunted forest and three eerie walk-through attractions. Crazy Doings
Sept 26-Nov 1:
Mad scientists, lunatic janitors, animated corpses and psychotic nurses run amok throughout the 13,000-square-foot Brighton Asylum. Don’t miss “Contact” nights on October 23 and 30 and November 1, when the actors grab and touch participants. Zombies in Asbury Park
Oct 4:
Since 2008, thousands of zombies have invaded Asbury Park’s Convention Hall for the Undead Festival, a benefit for brain-cancer research. 1300 Ocean Ave, Asbury Park (njzombiewalk.com).

Terror in the Corn
Oct 4-31:
Enter the Cornfield of Terror at R&J Farm in Galloway on weekends at your own risk, or explore the tamer corn maze at night with a flashlight for some simple spooky fun. Flashlight Corn Maze, $6; Cornfield of Terror, $8; dusk to 10 pm. R&J Farm, 723 West Herschel Street, Galloway (randjfarm.com).

Village of Ghosts
Oct 10-25:
The historic Red Mill Museum in Clinton hosts the Haunted Mill, a ghostly pop-up town spread across nine acres. Weekends only. $25-$45; 6:30-10 pm. 56 Main St, Clinton (clintonhauntedmill.org).

No Escape
Oct 10-Nov 1:
Burlington County Prison Museum transforms into a terrifying self-guided tour on fall weekends. Explore spaces like the Hellbilly House, the Sanctorium, Jak’s Slaughterhouse and Hellsgate Prison. Just remember: no turning back—and no refunds. Fridays and Saturdays, 6:30-10 pm; $15-$20. 128 High St, Mount Holly (prisonhaunt.com).

Spooky Seaport
Oct 23-25:
Enjoy spooky, family-friendly fun at Tuckerton Seaport, including hayrides, black-light mini-golf, pumpkin picking and a reed maze. Take a ride on the Black Pearl Pirate Ship for an additional $10. 6-9 pm; $8. 120 West Main St, Tuckerton (609-296-8868, tuckertonseaport.org).
