Sounds of South Africa in New Jersey
Dec. 6:
The Soweto Gospel Choir, under the direction of David Mulovhedzi and Beverly Bryer, is set to appear for one night only at NJPAC. Singing in six of South Africa’s eleven languages, the choir performs soulful hymns and rhythmic dances. Expect to be immersed in a world of brightly colored costumes and vibrant song.
It is an intoxicating mix of traditional hymns, South African gospel, western pop, and American soul music.
8 pm; $21-$82. 1 Center St, Newark (888-466-5722; njpac.org).
