July 19: Slow Food Northern New Jersey, a nonprofit that encourages the consumption of locally grown comestibles, and Sustenance, a green-event planning  business, host the first in a series of Sustenance on the Farm dinners this summer.

The event includes a tour and an elegant field-to-table five-course dinner at Griggstown Quail Farm. Enjoy live jazz and presentations from farmers George Rude and Matthew Sytsema, chef David Felton (formerly executive chef of the Pluckemin Inn), as well as winemakers and food artisans. 4–7 pm; $145. 986 Canal Rd, Princeton (908-654-3242; sustenanceevents.com).
