The world-renowned producer and DJ can be found spinning tunes from Dubai to Salt Lake City. His work on No Doubt’s “Hella Good” earned him a 2004 “Best Remixed Recording” Grammy, something he'd been aiming for since he was a kid.“Back in the ’70s and ’80s, I listened to Latin, funk, hip-hop, soul,” he says. “It all appealed to me.” By age 13, he was rocking turntables at house parties he organized. His first record, “Luv Dancin’,” became an underground smash in New York clubs. By the early ’90s, Sanchez signed with Strictly Rhythm records and licensed his songs for release in the United Kingdom.

Today, the 40-year-old spends summers headlining clubs and festivals in Ibiza, Spain, but he hangs his hat in Bergen County and records at a Nutley studio. “I love the quality of life in New Jersey,” he says. “It has everything, including great shopping and restaurants. And I am a short distance to New York.” Sanchez produces a syndicated radio show, “Release Yourself,” to an audience of 1 million listeners. Last year, he unveiled two CDs of original material, Come With Me and Release Yourself, Vol. 6, on his Stealth Records label. He’s even spinning in a new direction, making his acting debut in the indie film, Johnny Postal, which will be released in 2008.
