American Fruit Grower magazine recently named Gary Mount, owner of Terhune Orchards in Lawrence Township, its Apple Grower of the Year, citing his innovative application of marketing and technology. “New Jersey is not one of the major leaders in apple production, and that’s what makes this award so special to me,” Mount says. The 185-acre orchard, which he runs with his wife, Pam, sells about 3 million apples a year.
