Don’t Miss: The signature sushi rolls are fresh and created on the spot. There are 27 to choose from. My go-tos are the Spiderman ($15), soft-shell crab tempura topped with mango, avocado and caviar; and the Yummy Yummy ($15), lobster tempura topped with mango, avocado and caviar. The crispy sesame chicken entrée ($14) is the best I’ve ever had. Instead of hunting for the chicken inside a thick jacket of fried batter, you’ll find the large pieces of white meat brushed with a tasty glaze and sesame seeds.
Heads Up: Aikou is BYO. Servers are quick to bring a bucket of ice and will refill your glasses throughout the meal.
The Scoop: Lunch specials are a bargain. The maki roll lunch, served with soup or salad, provides any two rolls for $10, any three for $13. There are 23 rolls to choose from, many of them quite elaborate.
