Hours: Lunch: Tues–Fri, 11 am–3 pm; Sat–Sun, 12 pm–2 pm. Dinner: Tues–Sun, 4 pm-9 pm.
Style: Sparse but tastefully decorated Greek Taverna in rustic style. Warm and inviting interior matches the homey, residential-looking exterior.
Don’t Miss: The lunch menu is outstanding—loaded with salads, wraps and authentic Greek gyros and kebobs. Start with calamari ($9), lightly fried in olive oil and served with lemon. It’s a fan favorite. Spanakopita (spinach pie) is available in half ($4) and full ($8) portions. Go with the half, because it can be filling and there is plenty to taste. The grilled-chicken Caesar salad ($8.75) comes in an immense bowl—as do all the salads—with perfectly mixed dressing. The chef salad ($8.75) offers chicken breast and honey-cured ham, along with a generous assortment of olives, peppers, cucumbers and a hard-boiled egg. The Grecian wrap ($7.25) comes with thinly sliced gyro meat and tzatziki sauce, or try the chicken gyro ($7) and kefte kebob ($7.75).
Heads Up: If the salads, vegetables and herbs taste especially fresh, it’s because some of the produce comes from a farm behind the building. This is a perfect stop for farm-to-bistro cuisine.
The Scoop: Athenian Garden is family owned and operated. The service is impeccable and the staff is bright, friendly and terrifically well informed about the food.
