Hours: Mon-Tues, 6 am-8 pm; Wed–Fri, 6 am-10 pm; Sat, 8 am-10 pm; Sun, 8 am-2 pm.

Style: Don’t let coffee in the name fool you— this small establishment has excellent meals and nighttime entertainment.

Don’t Miss: For an appetite-sating breakfast, try the Sunshine Platter ($4.50), which includes three fried eggs, toast, and ham, bacon, sausage, or pork roll. The hot ham and cheddar bagel ($4.25), which is on the lunch menu, has thick slices of ham on a fresh cheddar bagel smothered in cheddar cheese. The grilled paninis, made with organic sourdough bread, are another sure bet—try the chicken Italiano ($6.25) if you’re a meat lover; tomato and mozzarella ($5.99) if not. Of course, the coffee is outstanding—they serve over a dozen different flavors.

Heads Up: The Barrington Coffee House has two identities: restaurant/coffee spot and live music venue. This magazine crowned them as having the best open mic in the state in 2009, and for good reason—it’s packed with local performers and their fans every Thursday night. Management books music acts throughout the week too; the schedule is on the website.

The Scoop:
The Barrington Coffee House is small—it looks like it was carved into the corner of the building. It’s never over-packed during the day, but it fills up fast for music events.
