Price: $
Style: Industrial-chic—tables covered in brown paper, exposed ceiling pipes, brick, cement—with a generous drink selection and high-end comfort food.
Don’t Miss: If you’re with a big group, order an array of Plates and Bites, including the hearty portion of mac and cheese ($6), pierogies ($6), edamame ($6), and Cajun-seared shrimp with parmesan grits ($11). Not in the mood to share? The mini sliders, served on a potato roll with homemade chips and a pickle, are standouts—particularly the ground-beef Sloppy Joes (two for $5, four for $7). Have them with a side of tater tots or sweet potato fries (each $3). Or try the pesto chicken sandwich with roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella ($9). Also a good bet is the filet sandwich piled high with filet mignon, frizzled onions, and bleu cheese ($14). Brickwall offers substantial dinner entrées, such as beef stroganoff with egg noodles ($13) and meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy ($13). To end the meal, try the chocolate peanut-butter pie ($6) or one of Brickwall’s spiked coffees or hot chocolates ($6).
Heads Up: On Friday and Saturday nights, there is live music. Sunday afternoons feature acoustic performances.
The Scoop: Opened in 2006, Brickwall quickly made the beach end of Cookman Avenue a hot spot in Asbury Park, attracting a bustling and vibrant mix of visitors.
