Throwbacks Bar & Grill

A lively sports bar with a deep roster of specials, combos and dishes.

THROWBACKS BAR & GRILL
2929 Route 130 South, Delran
856-461-2419

Hours: Mon-Thurs, 11 AM-2 AM; Fri-Sat, 8 AM-2 AM; Sun, 8 AM-1 AM.

Price: $$

Style: Sports bar with 14 flat screens, illuminating beer signs and a party vibe. There’s an elevated area for dining and a section of red upholstered booths.

Don’t Miss: Maryland crab soup ($5.99-$6.99), made from scratch, stands out among popular seafood dishes like Alaskan king crab legs ($16.99 per pound) and two jumbo lump crab cakes, deep-fried, pan-fried or baked, served with two sides ($17.99). For a custom hoagie, choose from a list of meats, cheeses, spreads and toppings ($7.99). The chipotle chicken wrap comes with fries and cole slaw ($9.99). Call for weekly dinner specials such as 65-cent wings on Wednesdays and 10 dinners for $10 each on Thursdays. At lunch, combos rule. Pick your sandwich, taco trio, quesadilla or chili dog ($6-$11) and get fries, cole slaw and either chili, soup or salad. (There are usually two soups and two salads to choose from.) Breakfast is served until 2 PM on Fridays and weekends. Eating light? Cold cereal is just $1.99 a bowl. Eating heavy? The breakfast bowl brings you bacon, sausage, ham, peppers, onions, home-fries, pepper jack cheese and two eggs ($7.99).

Heads Up: As a sister restaurant to 45th Street Pub in Pennsauken, an early craft-beer adopter, Throwbacks might be expected to offer a sophisticated beer selection, especially since the menu advertises $3 “craft beer” pints on Thursdays. Not only are there no craft beers, one friendly yet clueless server literally didn’t know the difference between a craft beer and a Bud. Talk about a throwback.

The Scoop: With a kids’ menu, breakfast served into the afternoon on weekends and an array of specials, Throwbacks offers much more than a place to watch the game. Yet there was no better place to watch last summer’s Women’s World Cup soccer final. When Delran’s own Carli Lloyd scored the earliest hat trick in World Cup history, her family and friends cheered her on from their perches in Throwbacks.
