Tinos Barbeque and Grill
229 Littleton Rd, Parsippany
Hours: Sun–Thurs, 11 am–9 pm; Fri and Sat, 11 am–10 pm.
Style: Casual, predominantly take-out eatery with free delivery (over $10); limited space and sparse ambience for eating in.
Don’t Miss: The menu is huge, and so are the portions. The starters—spicy grilled chorizo ($8) or shrimp and garlic sauce—are tasty, but if you’re planning to have an entrée pass on them (pair an appetizer with any of the $8 oversized salads for a full meal on the lighter side). The meats are cooked in a brick charcoal pit, which may account for their fall-off-the-bone tenderness. The spareribs (half order, $8/full, $12) are served without sauce and have a delicate smoky flavor. The barbeque chicken (half, $8/whole, $12) is moist inside with tangy, crunchy skin. All the entrées are served with mega portions of potatoes, saffron rice, and vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, and carrots in a light dressing of olive oil and garlic). Two traditional Iberian favorites earn the menu’s top price, but the generous paella for two ($25), and mariscada—seafood stew—($25) can feed a family.
Heads Up: Located in a strip mall off Route 46 West. Call ahead for fastest service and there is plenty of parking.
The Scoop: BYO.
