The Jersey Choice Restaurant Poll is your chance to help select the Garden State’s best dining spots. To take part in the survey, just complete this form and drop it in the mail. THE ENTRY DEADLINE IS March 11. You can name restaurants anywhere in New Jersey. We’ll tabulate the winners by three regions: North, Central and South. Winners will be published in the August issue of New Jersey Monthly.

By submitting a ballot, you become eligible to win dinner for two at the restaurant named Best of the Best in your region. The winner will be chosen in a random drawing. So tell us where you love to eat—and be part of one of New Jersey Monthly’s most popular features.

Limit one submission per household or location. Restaurants assisting in the submission of ballots will be disqualified.

I often wonder if you have regular foodies choose your best. They never change

I love food. But your choices sometimes leave me wanting.

Salt Creek Grille is simply the best.

The coffee-encrusted NY steak is just to die for. I was even drooling over the leftovers. I was in heaven, until I got jealous of my boyfriend’s pork chop, which (according to the menu) Zagat claims is the "best pork chop on the planet." I was only allowed to steal one small bite, but that’s all it took for me to completely agree with their assessment! It’s thick, perfectly cooked, and perfectly seasoned. Even though my stomach was more than satisfied, we chose to split a chocolate souffle. If I don’t get that souffle again for Valentine’s Day, I’ll be upset! I’ve tried a few things from each of the 2 New Jersey locations, and the new cheese plate appetizer (something I’ve now copied at my home get-togethers) and the ahi tuna stack are my favorites. Either location, hands down, could be the winner in my book.

Sugarush cupcakes

We go into Red Bank all the time to eat and make sure we get our desserts from Sugarush. Their cupcakes are the best around. We just recently ordered a cupcake cake from there and it is was shaped like a stroller. So create and delicious!

Agree about Sugarush

I just had a cake made from there because of how much I love their cupcakes. I dream about it there. They are always so friendly in there! Defintely best in NJ.

VIA 45 Red Bank NJ

VIA 45 is my favorite restaurant for many reasons! Claudette, Lauren (owners) and their staff are the nicest people you could ever meet, especially Pierre and Ryan. The food is the absolute best and I have a gluten allergy. My favorite dish is the anything with the VIA 45 sauce on it. They always have a gluten free dessert and the gluten free pineapple upside down cake is one of my favorites. Having dinner at VIA 45 is a relaxing, romantic evening for my husband and I and it’s BYOB!

Temple Gourmet

The best Chinese restaurant in NJ is now Temple Gourmet Chinese. I used to drive out to Peking Pavilion for Chinese and now I take the short hike down to Red Bank. I must say that, the owner, Victor has outdone his parents. The food is fresh and cooked to a perfect temperature. Service is comparable to any fine-dining restaurant in New Jersey. Although the space is smaller, the location is ideal especially on a warm summer day where you can people-watch on Temple’s outdoor patio on Broad Street. If you enjoy Chinese food, you must, at least, give Temple a try.

Temple Chinese Restuarant in Red Bank

I have traveled extensively throughout Asia and have never enjoyed this level of Chinese "haute cuisine". Every dish is unique and perfect with regard to taste and presentation. The place may be filled to capacity but the kitchen is so well organized that the food comes out hot and quickly. Amazing! Enjoyed every moment of my experience there.

CUPCAKES

No one but Chris and the sweet geniuses behind Sugarush, Red Bank!

At Cafe Luna you order any fish dish or pasta and it is just like the taste of Venice or Rome. Save the travel cost but be sure to make a reservation. The soups are outstanding too.

I am told deserts are a wonder but none for me.

La Cipollina

La Cipollina is consistently excellent--from the inspired menu choices and specials to the service of their fine staff, to the value. Whether dining indoors during the winter or al fresco in the summer, I heartily recommend this restaurant!

Romantic, delicious...hidden treasure

The Wine Bar in Atlantic Highlands is truly a hidden treasure. It’s gorgeous decor, incredible food, dim-lit lounge and extensive wine list is the perfect place to cuddle up with your special someone for a couple of drinks after dinner, while you listen to the live jazz band that plays. Absolutely indredible. Worth the 45 minute ride, especially in the summer, where you can walk a block away to the most luxurious marina.

La Cipollina is the best all around restaurant. My husband and I have been going there for years we have even had our company Christmas parties there.. Everything is excellent, the staff, the food, the atmosphere.

San Giuseppe Coal Fired Pizza and Restaurant

cafe

Hands down America’s cup makes best cappuccino. Starbucks should take lessons from owner Ross. A true barrista.

La Cipollina

It is time to rediscover La Cipollina. It is an excellent family-owned restaurant that always succeeds in providing for a wonderful evening. The food? Exceptional and inventive...not your fathers Italian restaurant. The service? Usually first rate! The kind of service you would expect at a 4 star New York restaurant. Handsome guys and gals in tuxedos bring about an old world European charm with modern sensibility. You will definitely be impressed at La Cipollina. Plan to go there this weekend...stop reading and make reservations now!

New Bakery

Montclair has a new bakery called The Little Daisy Bake Shop with fabulous desserts. Everything is good and the menu changes adding new wonderful creations. Everything is made in small batches and from scratch. It’s the best!!!!

My go to place. Never lets me down. They know what they are doing. Why would you ever go to a chain restaurant!?.....Do any of these work for you?

The Frog & The Peach:
A classy place for special occasions as well as really good bar food. A Great place for special occasions and accessible enough for an appetizer at the bar and a great cocktail. Comfortable classy & Swanky. Historic Industrial. Dramatic yet welcoming. Great wine selection with unusual stuff and a staff that knows what’s what

Service

I could not say enough about the quality of the service here. The absolutely most perfect bartending staff possible, a 5 star baker who can probably work anywhere she wants but prefers catherine lombardi, and the food is well, i cannot write the words.

Great from the start

Osteria Morini, now residing where our former favorite restaurant Due Terre lived, is a gem. From the appetizer (which could have been our entree) through dessert, our recent dinner there was magical. Superb ingredients, great choices, outstanding service, and food that just knocked us out...Osteria Morini is an instant classic and our newest favorite. We would eat there every week if we could!

ALICES. Hidden treasure that snagged NJs best chef.

Alice’s in Lake Hopatcong... David Drake is the Executive Chef...Yes, the David Drake from the Frog & The Peach, Ryland Inn, Stage House, etc. It’s down home and comfortable- not fine dining. His food + relaxed atmosphere (servers wear jeans) + shabby chic vibe = priceless. Not to mention totally different- especially for NJ. Worth the trip to Lake Hopatcong. Just about an hour from Manhattan. Do it.
