Shop for designer shoes, dine on authentic Greek food, browse through original paintings, enjoy a facial, and experience an intense Pilates class, all in this quaint Bergen County town.

Shoes, jewels, and… lingerie: Shopping in Westwood offers something for everyone. From shoes at Avanti Moda Shoes (58 Westwood Ave., 201-664-6644, avantimodashoes.net); to diamonds and gems at the Gem Mine (65 Westwood Ave., 201-722-8676) and Laviano Jewelers (175 Westwood Ave., 201-664-0616, lavianojewelers.com); to custom frames at Frame it Yourself (89 Westwood Ave., 201-666-2615, frameityourselfofwestwood.com); or sexy lingerie for that special someone at Tender is the Night (152 Westwood Ave., 201-666-7455, tenderisthenight.net).

Great Eats: For cheese fondue and a girl’s night out, visit the Melting Pot (250 Center Ave., 201-664-8877, meltingpot.com); for a juicy, delicious burger, step into the Iron Horse (20 Washington Ave., 201-666-9682, theironhorse.com); for gyros and souvlaki, try It’s Greek to Me (487 Broadway, 201-722-3511); and for dessert enjoy an ice cream cookie sandwich at Cold Stone Creamery (441 Broadway, 201-722-0272).

Sneak a Peek: Hate long lines at the movies? Just want to enjoy the film without kids throwing Skittles at the back of your head? Visit Westwood’s Pascack Theatre (182 Center Ave., 201-664-3200)—showing six of the latest flicks for a cheaper price.

Run it Out:
Need to get back in shape for summer? Check out Westwood Health and Fitness (346 Kinderkamack Road, 201-666-3800, gowestwood.com) with three floors of strength training, cardio, physical therapy, and classes such as yoga and spinning. For women who only want to sweat in front of other women, American Women Fitness Centers (700 Broadway Street, 201-666-6600, americanwomanfitness.com) is the perfect place, with both fitness center and aquatic facility.

Take a Look: Westwood Art Gallery (10 Westwood Ave., 201-666-1800, westwoodartgallery.com) features original paintings, prints, and photographs with frequent exhibitions, and up-and-coming artists. Delivery and installation of purchases are available.

Just Knit: With knitting and crotchet classes, Creative Knit Works (300 Fairview Ave., 201-664-5648, creativeknitworks.com) is a great place to kick off a new hobby. Start small with a pair of socks or challenge yourself with a sweater. Also ask for great craft ideas for the kiddies.

Close Your Eyes: Mezzaluna Day Spa (333 Broadway, 201-666-6632, mezzalunadayspa.com) is a safe haven for a much-needed break. Whether it’s a facial, massage, aromatherapy, or a steam shower, Mezzaluna is the place to be.

What you missed

Can’t believe you are writing a story about Westwood and never mentioned CONRADS? 107 Westwood Ave a chain ice cream store you mention, but NOT Conrads? Clearly you never visited the town, but did this article using a phone book. If you bypass Conrads to go to the chain ice cream store, you are missing alot! Nor did you mention Lisa’s Pizza 417 Broadway or one of the best bakeries ever. Sugarflake 257 Westwood Ave.
Next time take the time to visit the town & experience what it has to offer. You might also stop in to the Rolling Pin on Broadway across from the train station for a delicious lunch.
