I am of the firm opinion that one of the marks of a great artist is his/her ability to evolve over time, both intellectually and stylistically. That is actually not as easy to achieve as one might assume.
There is a contemporary painter, one Christian Vincent, who I have had the great privilege of watching “in action” a bit. I have seen his work consistently evolve as he and his life evolve, and the results are exciting and provocative.
