Alfonsos in East Brunswick. Set back off 18, wood fired to seal in some great flavor. Rated top 10 in middlesex county. Salad pizza is amazing as is there plain tomato. Carmine runs the place and tony cranks out the pies. It’s a must try.

Favorite Pizza
I am not a pizza lover, per se. But, the pizza at Whole Foods in Madison is incredible. The crust is thin, the cheese plentiful and they have all kinds of interesting toppings. The roasted veggie or the mushroom are my faves so far. Tried the Taco pizza as a sample and it was tasty.
When they heat it for you to eat there, it is really hot like just out of the over for the first time.

Great Sicilian Pizza and Focaccia.
Dominick’s Pizza in Totowa makes the best Sicilian Pizza this side of the Atlantic! Their Focaicca is also second to none!

Best NJ pizza
The Lido in Hackensack (www.lidoonline.com) has the best thin crust pizza hands down! The Columbia Inn in Boonton (thecolumbiainn.com) runs a close second.
Pavolo’s Pizzeria in Denville & Tony’s in Morris Plains are tops for standard fare Brooklyn-type pizza.

Papa’s in Trenton! End.Of.Story.
I’m not a Trenton native so I’m not going to preach about Trenton pies but this place Papa’s is amazing. I have taken friends and family through some questionable neighborhoods to reach this pizza heaven and EVERYONE I’ve ever brought agrees, it’s just incredible. The cheese, the sausage, the crust...I don’t know what they do but its the best I’ve ever had.

The Pizza in Manville is delicious at Manville Pizzaria!!! The many varities that are displayed at lunch time make it hard to eat just one!!No matter thin, thick or just however this pizza can never get ruined!! With the incredible sauce and the best cheese this 40 year old pizzaria still does it right!!! Once you taste you’ll always come back for more.

Fantastic Pizza!
Went to Salerno’s Pizzeria and Restaurant in Hazlet, NJ. It has been opened 5 weeks and already a favorite in the family. Used to go to another local Pizza joint but it has been replaced with the Salerno’s Pizzeria. Menu offers a wide variety for everyone in our family-and everything so far has been out of this world. It is like being back in Brookly 20 years ago. Sauce on the Pizza’s are great and the specialty pizza’s are just that- SPECIAL!!!!! Must try.

Best Pizza
By far, the best pizza I have ever had is at the Star Tavern in Orange. Ralph’s in Nutley is also quite good. And Mario’s in Clifton has been a favorite since I was a teen. They are all different and good in their own way.

Gennaros Pizzeria
Gennaros Pizzeria in Hamilton, NJ was just recently rated by the Star Ledger’s Pizza Patrol Munchmobile (9/18/09) and by the Trenton Times (10/23/09). The owner is a 27 year Trenton/Hamilton native. The thin-crust, Trenton style tomato pie and specialty pies are fabulous! Be sure to try this one (www.gennarospizzeria.com)

PRESTO PIZZA & PASTA
I READ APRIL’S NJ MONTHLY ABOUT A PLACE IN HARRINGTON PARK, NJ FOR HAVING THE BEST SLICE IN JERSEY BY ONE OF THE READERS. I SAY THE PIZZA IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAD IN A LONG TIME. THE CRUST WAS CRISPY AND THE SAUCE HAD THE RIGHT SWEETNESS. THE PLACE DOES LOOK GREAT. WE ALSO HAD A PASTA IN A CRAB SAUCE, GREAT ! TRY IT OUT, YOU’LL LOVE IT. BENNY
