From NJPAC to Primetime

A concert series that originated last June at NJPAC comes to primetime this month on NJTV.

Tune into NJTV tonight at 8 pm for the primetime debut of American Songbook at NJPAC, a six-part music series that was taped in front of a live audience at the Newark venue’s Victoria Theater in June.

The series will continue at the same hour each Wednesday through February 12, showcasing eight stars performing their favorite American Songbook standards. A Q&A will follow each performance with host Ted Chapin, president of Rodgers & Hammerstein, a music publishing and theatrical licensing company. Chapin has helped launch more than 20 award-winning Broadway and London musical revivals.

Tonight’s episode features Broadway actress and singer Rebecca Luker, performing a selection of songs by Jerome Kern, including “Can’t Help Loving that Man.” See below for the full episode schedule.
