Music industry veteran and New Jersey native Bob Benjamin, who has been living with Parkinson’s disease since 1996, co-founded the Light of Day Foundation in 2000, and the organization has since raised over $2.5 million dollars. New Jersey Monthly honored Benjamin for his charitable efforts in 2009 with a Seeds of Hope award.
What started as a one-day concert in Asbury Park fifteen years ago is now a global tour, with Light of Day concerts held across the country and in Australia, Canada and Europe.
On January 9, Light of Day Winterfest stops at Hebe Music Lounge in Burlington, featuring performances by Dramarama’s John Easdale, Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan and more.
On January 10, the festival heads north to Outpost in the Burbs in Montclair, featuring Garland Jeffreys and Band, James Maddock and Band, Steve Conte NYC and more.
Then the main event settles in Asbury Park, where the festival will stay from January 11 through January 19, with performances at venues like the Stone Pony and Wonder Bar. Acts include Willie Nile, Gary US Bonds, Guy Davis, and James Maddock.
But let’s cut to the chase: will Bruce Springsteen make a surprise appearance again this year? Buy tickets now and find out in January.
