As if a vigorous workout every other day isn’t challenge enough, this week I had to endure my first business lunch since starting the Get Fit program. I passed with flying colors.
Something from the bar, sir? Just sparkling water for me. Soup or salad? The salad, of course. Bread? Uh, uhh. And the final challenge: dessert. I simply waved it away.
How am I staying so motivated? As of weigh-in last Friday, I’d lost seven pounds. I think I’ve knocked off a couple more since. I’ll report back when I find out. That really keeps you going.
Even better: I’m back in the size-36 pants that I had pushed to the back of the closet. Now the size-38s are getting shoved aside.
Meanwhile, the workouts have gotten tougher. We’ve added the elliptical machine and the step machine to the treadmill, which is nice. It changes things up a little. But Shari, our trainer, insists we break up our elliptical work with squat thrusts. That’s really tiring. The she drags us into the studio (which I’ve taken to calling “the torture chamber”) to knock us out with more sprints, calisthenics, and assorted push-ups.
I’m hurting, but hanging in there. And thrilled with the results.
Speaking of motivation, it really is good working out as a team. We’ve got a nice bunch of people—all helping each other.
