Since the spirit of “Get Fit New Jersey” is teamwork, I find it hard to think of myself in competition with the eight other members of our workout group. Really nice people! But it was kind of fun (and surprising) to beat everyone at the weigh-in last and win a free massage.

There was no lack of drama this week as our trainer’s frustration with some of the “Get Fit” team members came out at Friday’s session. Clearly, in week seven of the program, some people are having more success than others.

I never cared much for running. Too much impact. Hurts the knees, hurts the hips, bangs up the spine. Give me nice long bike ride any day. So it was truly a first for me when Shari informed us we had to run a “5K” on the treadmill.
