My Flat in London

My Flat In London handbags are not for all women. They are for women who want to feel like girly-girls. Or even Jersey girly-girls.

Despite the name, these celeb-blessed designer handbags are headquartered on this side of the pond, in Lawrenceville. They are the proud product of a local husband-wife team, Todd and Jan Haedrich (she designs, he runs the business side), who find New Jersey scenically satisfying and convenient to the New York City fashion world.

MFIL bags have been around for eight years and stayed true to the core design, an “evergreen, jet set flavor,” says Jan.  Her favorite images — crowns, terriers, bees — adorn  the side of the handbags. She’s designed accessories like tee shirts and jewelry with matching icons. The shirts even have “secret messages” about the images.

In Jan’s real flat in London, the transplanted American briefly escaped the masses by taking luxurious bubble baths and sipping champagne. She designed the handbags, made of fine Italian leather, to capture the essence of her hideaway: pink and silky, adorned by bows.

Now the Haedrichs travel the world, promoting the luxury brand and its staying power. MFIL will be around for “generations to come” says Jan. You’ll pay a little extra for the label. But like all your designer goodies, they make you feel special. And Jersey girly girl — you are worth it!
