So much going in Enn-Jay this weekend…there’s no reason to be anywhere but here!

Two world class happenings. Lorin Maazel conducts the New York Philharmonic in Wagner’s Ring Cycle at NJPAC tomorrow at 8 p.m. And in Atlantic City, Bodies the Exhibition arrives at Trump Taj Mahal. It’s the not-for-the-squeamish look at the workings of the human body, with actual human specimens. Through August 22.

Festivals? There’s one in just about every region of the state. Way up north, there is the Sussex County Birding and Nature Festival on Saturday and Sunday, sponsored by the New Jersey Audubon Society. There will be nature hikes and birding walks in places like High Point State Park and the Wallkill River.

Over the same two days, Long Valley hosts the New Jersey Family Medieval and Fantasy Festival. Look for fencing demonstrations, pillow jousting and a visit from The Adrian Empire, which recreates Western European culture between the years 1066 and 1603.

In Madison, The New Jersey Jazz Society presents the 32nd Annual Jazzfest at Drew University, with concerts tomorrow through Sunday. And down the Shore, there is the 22nd Annual Seafood Festival in Belmar, also Sunday.

Trenton is having its Heritage Days Festival Saturday and Sunday at the Statehouse complex, with live music and dance performances, crafts and ethnic food showing Trenton’s diversity.

In deep South Jersey, the big event is the Appel Farm Arts & Music Festival in Elmer all day Saturday starting at 11:30. Big names performers include Suzanne Vega, alternative rockers They Might be Giants and New Jersey’s own The Smithereens

Other South Jersey festivals include the first downtown concert of the city of Burlington’s summer series, tomorrow at 7 p.m., and Moorestown Day on Sunday, with food, live music, children’s activities and about 100 vendors along historic Main Street.

With strawberries in season, we know of three strawberry festivals: at Wilbraham Park Saturday in West Cape May; on Sunday at Johnson’s Farm in Medford; and also on Sunday at Peaceful Valley Orchards in Pittstown.

Then there is the Well-Sweep Herb Farm Spring Open House on Saturday, in Port Murray. And in Hamilton, Grounds For Sculpture celebrates the 15th anniversary of its founding with  free musical performances all day Saturday, and by inviting families to create their own special squares in a Community Quilt Project.
