I was interviewed at a New Jersey radio station earlier this month, and it brought back memories of my days (make that nights, late nights) hosting a jazz show on WBUR-FM, the Boston University NPR affiliate, when I was in college.

This corner between two recording studios could have been a back-to-the-future fetch. The home-made shelving, the amplifier, the styrofoam cup, the pink paper commands, the Dymo labels--all could have been retrieved from the WBUR where I spent so many hundreds of happy hours back then.

I won't give away how long ago that was, but there is one giveaway that this picture is not from my college years.

The compact disc had not been invented yet.
