Coming Attractions: Tabby's Place

Do you like this story?

In December we will present our first PET ISSUE. One of the stories is about a man who made a fortune in the first dotcom boom and then cashed out in order to devote his life to saving seriously ill and injured cats from euthanasia.

Click "Read the rest of this post" to see full picture.

The man--seen here at Tabby's Place, the heaven-on-earth cat sanctuary he built in Ringoes--is Jonathan Rosenberg, who was the first chief technology officer of C/NET.

He and his wife, Sharon (who was allergic to cats as a child), run Tabby's Place, which takes in unwanted cats from shelters and gives them first-rate medical care, prescription food and a palace to romp in until the end of their days or someone adopts them, whichever comes first.

Being a cat lover myself, I enjoyed my visit to Tabby's Place to report the story. (Hey, I got to pet about 25 cats.) But even if I weren't, I would have been impressed with the spotlessly clean, odor-free environment the Rosenbergs have created for their scores of feline friends.

Read the whole story in our first PET ISSUE, coming in December.

Mr. Rosenberg:

You’re my hero.

God made only a few people with truly special souls - those who place what’s right above themselves - and you and your wife are obviously two of them.

My wife and have chosen as our charity to support a no-kill shelter in New Hampshire. You should be applauded for doing the same in New Jersey.

Thank you for what you have done.

cats

I just saw this on the cbs news. I just want to say "thank you" for the love that you have for these precious little animals. I have seven, which all were strays. They are my seven little children. God bless you . If something should happen to me, i would want you to have my little babies. You are truly a wonderful person.

Thank you for all that you do for these cat’s.
My husband and I are handicap, matter of fact I’m going through chemo right now, and my husband is layed off, but we do the same thing. I have not turned any animals away due to finances, we will figure it out. One day I hope to have A in door out door building for the dog’s, but we will get there.
At the present time we have 7 dog’s, ang 5 cat’s, and about 4 stray cat’s we feed and are trying to make part of the family.
I get call’s from all around here(it’s all by word of mouth) I have A cat Stumpy, he was one of my bottle feed babys, when we got him he was found in a old train car, his back foot was black, we thought that the mom chewed therw the embelacord and into his back foot, we took him to the vet. and they put him on an antibitoc, the foot fell off, and now he is about 6yrs. old now and doing well.
We also have a great dane that was born both blind and deaf, I have tought him how to sit and shake, he is mainly white and I named him Klondike.
That has always been my dream, if I were to win the lotery, (ha ha) is to open up an emergency vet, were no animal was turned away. The emergency vet here is 75.00 just to walk through the doors.
I would save all the animals I could.

God bless you and your wife,
and keep up the great work.

Mr. Rosenberg & Staff,
You all deserve every congratulations on last night’s wonderful piece about TP on the CBS news. You have all been my heros, and I try to contribute whenever I can. I think it’s time for the world to refocus on organizations like yours rather than the material things in life.
Thanks again,
The Bloom Family

I truely love what your doing for all these helpless felines. I’m disabled and support two strays that I’ve had ever since they were babies, now one is almost 12 and they other is almost 13. The 13 year old is Kiat and he battles with thyroid problems, having to pill him twice daily, and vet visits every other month. I don’t care really because I love them to death, and would put them first before myself.

You and your wife should be commended for all your greatfulness that you give to your felines, and enormous love and dedication which you both give, is one to be greatly commended for.

Your selfishness is over look by all your loving purrs and meows I truely wish their were more people like both of you, they would be allot more love for our cats if they were.

The Lord has a special place for folks like yourselves, I truely love my cats and it shows you love yours.
