Justine Pecora, a sophomore at Caldwell College, has spent the summer selling soft pretzels and ice cream and drinks and candy to people on the Long Branch boardwalk. It's a hard job, but there are compensations...

The stand where Pecora works sits right on the boardwalk, so people have to walk around it. The space between the sea side of the boardwalk and the front of the stand is fairly narrow, so you can't help but get a good view of the merchandise as you walk by.

This makes it very tempting to stop and buy something on a hot day. That keeps Pecora busy.

But from her side of the counter, Pecora gets a splendid view of the beach and the ocean, much better than most vendors do because the stand is much closer to the water than most vendors are.

"It's perfect, looking at the view all day," Pecora says. "And I love everyone who works here."
