Do you like this story?

I loved these as a little kid, but even then it irked me that no matter what I did with the steering wheel the car continued to move mulishly in the same plodding circle.

Location: Morey's Piers, Wildwood.

What a day it was when I finally grew tall enough to be allowed to drive the real, albeit tame, go-karts that you could drive around a miniature course. And the same for bumper cars. I was less interested in crashing into others than in steering my bumper car through traffic as if driving a real car. But somebody would smash into me, I'd get mad at having my fantasy interrupted and swing around and smash them back, avoiding eye contact, however, lest they think it was personal. Which it was, but those kids were usually bigger than me.
