I came across a utility truck in Morristown yesterday. The operator was checking voltages in underground cables. I asked him what this big yellow box on the back of his truck was for...

"It's a magnet for lifting off manhole covers," he said.

I was glad I asked.

BTW, I just noticed the five gallon white plastic bucket in the background, and what is marked on it: "Claussen Kosher Pickle Slices." They're very good insulators, I hear.
