Tent Show

Metal-framed, arch-shaped storage tents are becoming more common, but to me there is still something exotic and mysterious about them. They have an almost Christo meets Joe Sixpack quality.

I have my car washed at My Carwash on Bloomfield Avenue in Verona. As the vehicle moves through the line, I have a couple minutes to wander around with my camera.

I’ve been there so many times, you’d think there would be nothing left to photograph anymore. But life and even the inanimate objects in it are never static.

(Maybe that’s why we are all drawn to oceans, lakes, rivers and mountains. Global warming and pollution notwithstanding, these things offer us the reassurance of what we are not–constant and impervious to time.)

The tent has been there for awhile, but this time the still life inside was different, and for some reason so was the light.
