A new podcast series serves as tour guide on a trip through historical Gloucester County.
The free series, produced by Gloucester County and the South Jersey Tourism Corporation, offers backgrounders on historic landmarks, including the Red Bank Battlefield and the James and Ann Whitall House, which served as American headquarters and a hospital during the Revolutionary War.
The series comes in five seven-minute podcasts, with a new installment released every two weeks at revolutionaryideatour.com (two have already been released). You can listen to them on the site, or download the podcasts via iTunes onto your MP3 player.
They’re fun, too. The podcast about the Whitall House kicks off with Bruce Springsteen’s “Jersey Girl” and includes information on a lot of Jersey girls who have made a difference.
Together, the series creates a complete driving tour of the county. It’s an easy and free way to learn a little bit more about this history of where we live.
