Hoping to avoid the Black Friday shopping crush? The Holiday Studio sale at WheatonArts and Cultural Center can help.

WheatonArts is part museum, part art center, all tucked into the woods of Millville. The center is home to the Museum of American Glass and provides displays on South Jersey’s folk life and history in the Down Jersey Folklife Center.

As a studio, WheatonArts provides space for glassblowers to practice their art. (Many a child has visited WheatonArts on a field trip, returning with stories of seeing liquid turned into glass art.)

The artists who work at WheatonArts sell items in the museum store—everything from glass marbles to beautiful paperweights to fine glass ornaments and even dishes, cups, and bowls.

That’s where the sale comes in: On November 27-28 and December 5- 6, the studio will host its annual sale. Blown glass and hand-made ceramic items will be discounted 30 to 70 percent. And you won’t have to pay admission to get into the sale.

WheatonArts offers other attractions, especially for the kids. On November 27-30, glass artist Deborah Czeresko will attempt to create the world’s largest glass ornament in the WheatonArts Glass Studio.

Incredible Fine Crafts Gallery

We returned to Wheaton Arts yesterday for the first time in about five years. The fine crafts gallery was astounding! Some of the work, featured on this
Americana blog was just jaw-dropping amazing. Fantastic job, Wheaton Arts!
