Spring is in this Weekend

You can welcome spring this weekend with something old and something new on the South Jersey festival circuit.

Collingswood is known for its green bent. The town’s their farmer’s market is entering its tenth year, and the town sponsors composting programs and a bike share program. This year for the first time, the town is staging a Green Festival, which will take over Irvin Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. You can learn about everything from hybrid cars, composting, solar power, energy conservation, and saving water. The Collingswood Shade Tree Board will also be selling trees at a big discount. In Cape May, the fourteenth annual Spring Festival lasts ten days—that’s plenty to shake off the effects of a long winter. The event has a little bit for everyone, from food and wine events to gardening (the tulip and garden show is on April 25) to ghost tours (the Ghosts of Cape May Trolley Tour runs every evening). Particularly popular is the April 30 dine around, where you have a course each at five different restaurants—with a trolley provided. For a list of events, go to capemaymac.org.
