The Atlantic City Food & Wine Festival hits the beach next weekend. Come hungry.
This year’s festival is a re-boot of Toast to the Coast, which Harrah’s hosted in 2007 and 2008. That earlier event promoted local bars and restaurants, but didn’t have much razzle dazzle to entice people into making a special trip. This year’s edition, which runs July 30-August 2, has more on the schedule and more culinary star power.
Come to the Festival and you can meet chef/TV personalities like Emeril Lagasse, Guy Fieri, Duff Goldman, Ted Allen, and Ingrid Hoffman. You can taste test wines, whiskey, and champagnes, and eat – a lot. The schedule includes a gourmet pizza bash, a champagne seminar, a beach soiree, and a gospel brunch.
“With more marquee celebrity chefs, and more opportunities to closely interact with them, than ever before, visitors to Atlantic City will not get a better chance to meet their culinary heroes,” says Jennifer Weissman, VP of marketing for Harrah's Entertainment Atlantic City.
You can buy a general admission pass to the entire weekend, or pay per event (many are under $30 a ticket). Proceeds go the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
