It doesn’t look like the white stuff is going away any time soon, so if you need a dose of spring early, check out the best of South Jersey’s gardens at the Philadelphia International Flower Show from February 28 to March 7.
While the show is in Philadelphia, eight New Jersey groups from Atlantic, Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties participate, including the Camden City Garden Club and Waldor Orchids.
Waldor’s a big name at the event. The Linwood-based company is a showcase exhibitor and has been at the Philadelphia Flower Show for several generations, according Alan Jaffe of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, which puts on the event.
I’ve gone to the Flower Show a dozen times. Wrapping yourself in a world of flowers is an easy way to forget the foot of snow outside – a placeholder to get you through the rest of the winter.
