Revel, the new Atlantic City casino and resort, is not gambling on its opening act. The giant entertainment complex on the Boardwalk will celebrate its debut with three shows (May 25-27) by 16-time Grammy winner Beyoncé.
The opening show will be the international superstar’s first live performance since giving birth in January to her daughter, Blue Ivy. The return to the spotlight by Beyoncé makes this a really sweet way to herald in the new casino’s long-anticipated launch.
The 6.3 million-square-foot, 1,800-room Revel is opening in stages, starting on April 2, when it will begin welcoming guests during an eight-week trial run. Seven of the property’s 14 restaurants will be open that day, with the rest opening throughout the preview.
Beyoncé will perform in Ovation Hall, Revel’s signature performance space designed by Cirque du Soleil veteran Sceno Plus. According to Revel officials, all 5,050 Ovation Hall seats have an unobstructed view of the performer, and concertgoers will be immersed in a state-of-the-art sound system that “puts the audience in the center of the action with immersive audibility.”
The show will run for three nights: Friday, May 25 at 9 pm, Saturday, May 26, and Sunday, May 27, at 8 PM. Tickets go on sale at 10 AM on April 6 at ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.
