MZ Wallace “Colette” Handbag Inspired by Mendham Woman

If you're a fan of super-smart MZ Wallace handbags and totes, here's an interesting piece of fashion trivia!

I was having dinner the other night with my pal Colette (Coco) Fraenkel of Mendham, and she walked in with a gorgeous MZ Wallace nylon/leather tote in dark green, one of this fall’s hottest hues. When I asked about her new bag as I eyed it affectionately, she told me the style is called "Colette." I thought it was just a coincidence that the bag bore her name.

Of course, I should have known better. Because Coco is an intriguing girl oozing with stylish and fashionable connections. Not to mention that she speaks fluent French, which is tres cool.

Anyway, back to my little story…

After I probed a bit (which I cannot help doing since I am a journalist), the humble Colette proceeded to tell me that the "MZ" in "MZ Wallace" is her cousin, Monica Zwirner, who is partners with Lucy Wallace Eustice. And Monica was kind enough to christen one of her Fall 2012 totes in honor of Colette…and she recently gifted one of the new bags to Coco.

How cool is that?

It was great fun ogling my friend’s eponymous tote as we feasted on spicy Chinese food and hot green tea, being ever so careful not to spill anything on THE BAG.

If you crave a Colette tote of your own, check out Nordstrom, Bloomie’s or mzwallace.com. I love all the styles and colors of the autumn collection…including a fresh navy that will look gorgeous paired with blacks.

A bientot,

Susan
