Fashion-Show Fundraiser on Thursday, September 25!

Blowout Salon in Morristown will host a Fashion for Hope fundraiser this week to benefit the non-profit Justice and Soul Foundation. Proceeds will help young survivors of sex trafficking in the foundation’s vocation training program in Cambodia...

Grab your friends and head over to Fashion for Hope this Thursday from 7:00-10:00 pm in the courtyard of Blowout Salon at 10 Cattano Avenue in Morristown. (NOTE: LATE-BREAKING NEWS … EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN).

Runway models will showcase upcoming hair, make up and fashion trends while integrating the event’s major themes of hope, restoration, empowerment and soul. The evening will feature the creative work of stylists and makeup artists from two businesses: Blowout Salon and Looks We Create, co-owned by beauty industry gurus Jacqueline and Jade Cicala.

“In addition to a fashion show highlighting the latest trends, this event will introduce clients and our community to the work of the Justice and Soul Foundation, a non-profit school in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, that teaches the fundamentals of cosmetology (hair, skin, nails and make up) to survivors of sex trafficking. We’re thrilled to be able to participate and support this important work that has the ability to transform lives and end the cycle of violence and exploitation. All of the money raised will be donated to the Justice and Soul Foundation,” says Jacqueline Cicala.

As co-founder and hair designer/makeup artist of Blowout Salon and Looks We Create (a venture that specializes in hair and makeup for special events and film), she acquired an eye for fashion and beauty after participating in beauty pageants in her native Equador and later honing her skills in New York salons.

Co-founder Jade Cicala has more than 20 years of experience in strategic management and customer service. His training and creativity help provide the vision for the two businesses.

The Justice & Soul Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on eliminating the sexual exploitation of young women and children globally as well as the restoration of the survivors. Through the founders’ shared connections to the salon and fashion industry and, after several years of research, planning and interviews, they are enlisting the support of the beauty industry to create a sustainable, systemic solution that addresses sex trafficking.

Tickets to the private event are $35 and can be purchased at Blowout Salon.
