New Jersey may have a Bravo star in the making.

Ariane Duarte, chef/co-owner of CulinAriane, 33 Walnut Street, Montclair, will be one of 17 chefs competing on the new Bravo series, Top Chef: New York.

In June, chef Aaron McCargo Jr of Camden  won the the fourth season of “The Next Food Network Star.” The big, ebullient chef 's reward was a six-week show of his own. Big Daddy's House was so successful that the Food Network has renewed it for 13 episodes beginning in January, 2009.

With Ariane Duarte (left) as a contestant, “Top Chef: New York”  will air beginning Wednesday, November 12th at 10 PM.

Duarte, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and her husband, Michael, run a 28-seat BYO with a menu based on fresh seasonal ingredients. (culinariane.com)
