Comments
I do not understand . . .
the bad comments. I have been to this restaurant 5 times since it opened and have not had a single bad experience, except for the fact that they ran out of one dessert the last time we went. Last night I was there with 5 friends. The drinks, food and service were all top notch, better than 95% of all central NJ restaurants. Seems like the first reviewer, Victoria, went when they first opened and got a rogue server who just could not be bothered. I have certainly not seen that. I am just glad there is finally a good seafood restaurant in Freehold.

Park Avenue Seafood Bistro
I, too, completely disagree with Victoria! They were in training then and let you know that when you walked in the door. They were not even officially open. My family and I found everything excellent! Not only did they give everyone 25% off the bill for being in training but alsos a $25 gift certificate to come back again. Having been back almost weekly since then, yes they have improved! But dont we all after training! Best restaurant in all of Monmouth County, especially for seafood! They also have a huge selection for the non fish eater. I was able to please everyone in my family!!!!

Agreeing with Victoria
Completely agree with Victoria.
List of complaints
Asked for baked potato, got mashed
Waiter(incompetent) admitted it was his fault but did nothing to rectify
Steak was supposed to be medium but was RARE RARE RARE
Also food for both parties was piled on top of mashed potatoes
If this a top chef from New York it makes me wonder
Also upon leaving, parking lot was set up for valet parking(what a joke) & it was difficult to leave lot.
Ps: This is Freehold NJ not Manhattan
Oh yes ,the clams were good

PARK AVE SEAFOOD BISTRO (TERRIBLE!!!)
park ave seafood bistro in freehold nj -
it is the worst place ever!! so over priced, the food was terrible, service was terrible, they were out of like everything we asked for, evem a baked potatoe, when there was a food town accross the street!! they told us they couldnt make any of the desserts because the chef had left and that was at 10:00 on a friday! Very disappointing and so not worth it for the money, the food was given very cheaply and had no flavor. only good thing there is the raw oysters, otherwise i'd never go back there again or suggest it to anyone. It is a complete joke.

Park Avenue Seafood Bistro
I completely disagree with Victoria. We loved it so much that we are taking both sets of our parents and our children with us the next time! Great service, excellent food, beautiful space.

Park Avenue Seafood Bistro
We were there for the first time last week. Excellent seafood, great service, lots of choices. I wrote a very positive review for my community paper and plan to return. I might sit at the bar and share appetizers, raw bar items, and soup with a glass of white wine.

Park Avenue Seafood Bistro
I have been there about 5 times. I always enjoyed it but last time one of the orders was messed up. My friend ordered Tuna black and blue and it came out raw. Everyone else’s food was fine.

I am the new executive chef at the park avenue seafood bistro. I have formal culinary training and an excellent resume and training (mumfords for 4 years as sous chef). I would ask everyone to come in and give the food another shot. I guarantee that you will enjoy its tastes and presentation. I belive in fresh ingredients, basic seasonings, and proper cooking techniques. I look forward to using my creativity to make the park avenue bistro what it should be. Give us another shot! You wont be dissapointed

Food was not great, service was bad
We went back on sat nite (3/21/09) because i was determined to give it another shot. The fish the last time was great but the service was horrible. The kitchen could not keep up and the chef could not get the food out. We said we would try it and we did. Not again. This time the food was bad, the fish was overcooked and dry and the waitress admitted that the kitchen was not able to keep up as well as the hostess who kept us at the bar for over 45 minutes because she said the chef was new and very slow. When I approached the manager he admitted it and told me to be patient and then put us ahead of another table to get us seated and then we waited over a half hour just to have the order taken. NO NO NO not again.

Would never go there again.
I went to the park avenue bistro with my wife and we could not get past the smell of the place upon opening the front door. We decided to give it a try anyway and I should have listened to my wife. The shrimp were undercooked and smelled as if they were washed off with lemon water to hide its true age. The oysters were good, but how can you mess them up. I tried the talapia and she had the chicken. The chicken was overcooked and dry and my talapia was flavorless and disguesting. It wasnt just the food, but the management there seemed like they just did not care. They walked around like we were lucky to eat there I hope this new chef brings in some new flair and they change the management. I would hate to see yet another restaurant fail in that location.
