8/23: A Chili Cook-Off will be held at Westfall Winery, 141 Clove Rd, Montague. Bring a pot of your favorite chili or taste and judge the entries, drink wine, and listen to live music. 8/23: Take your dog to dinner on the terrace of Gladstone Tavern, 273 Main St, Gladstone, and help raise money for St. Hubert’s, an organization that feeds, shelters, and provides care for nearly 4,000 animals each year. Seatings will be at noon, 2, 4, and 6 PM. Guests will be able to order from the restaurant’s seasonal dinner menu, while dogs will feast on bowls of beef stew. Admission for dogs is $10, and orders of beef stew are $5 and $7 (small and large bowls, respectively). Reservations for “dinner with your dog” are required and can be made by calling Gladstone Tavern at 908-234-9055.

 

8/23: A Farm to Table dinner will be held at Starbrite Farm, 141 Brighton Rd, Andover. Organic farmer John Krueger will host, and Chef Andrea Carbine, co-owner of A Toute Heure, Cranford, will prepare a five-course dinner with organic and heirloom vegetables from Starbrite Farm, grass-fed meat and poultry from a nearby farm, and food from artisans based within a small radius of Starbrite. Organic/biodynamic wines will be paired with each course, and live music will be supplied by local musicians. 4 to 7 PM; $145. 8/24: Taste of the Quarter will be held at the Quarter at Tropicana Casino & Resort, Atlantic City, to benefit the United Way. More than fifteen of the Tropicana’s restaurants and nightlife venues will be offering menu items. 6 to 9 PM; $25.
