The Spotted Rooster Cafe

Rosie: Suggest you try The Spotted Rooster Cafe in Mahwah. Now only open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Used to do breakfast and lunch but no more. Very disappointing, he had the best home made soups in Bergen County. Thursday nights he only does tapas and he’s packing them in. Apparently chef spent lots of time studying in Spain and the small plates are amazing, very authentic. Saturday and Sunday dinners are terrific. Sophisticated food, warm, friendly ambiance. Wonderful selection of fresh fish prepared very creatively. I’ve been there three times and each experience was better than the last. Makes an oso bucco to die for. Always offers a couple of terrific amuse buches. It’s a BYOB.
